Labor Day Camping in Ion.

We were so happy to be able to go camping one last time this summer. We were feeling like we shouldn't go and needed to stay home and work on the rental property, but the Osmun's invited us to tag along with them for the weekend and we just couldn't say No.  We were headed up the Pend Orielle River to Ion, there is a quaint, quiet campground up there called Edgewater.  They went up a day before us and scouted out the spot and got all settled and we came up the following evening. I could get use to that set up any day!  Once we arrived we set up camp and had dinner and did all the regular camping stuff, including praying for no rain-worked. The next day we all headed down to the river and went boating all day. It was cloudy and overcast, which made for chilly water sports, but that didn't stop us. We all got in some fun stuff. Conor got up on the wake board, I got in a few good ski runs, Kevin wake boarded and surfed and plenty of tubing was had.  We learned a few new tricks on the best way to surf behind our boar, and we found this fun rope swing that most of us took a swing on.  After a fun day on the water, it was back to the campsite, for some delicious dinner and campfire fun. I forgot my real camera so all these shots are from my phone.  Summer please don't leave!!!!!

-So, So, beautiful.  I am grateful to live somewhere that I can enjoy views like this and go camping and boating and biking relatively close to home and enjoy all the beauties of nature Heavenly Father provided for me.  Feeling so very blessed.

After we got home from the Kellogg reunion we had about a week to squeeze in a few more rounds of swimming, beach fun, and some fun play dates before school starts.

Kellogg Finale

We finally got almost everyone out of the house at the same time and went on a hike all together. We had to do some 4 wheeling to get to the trailhead but the hike was worth it. The mountain lakes are so beautiful. This is the Skein Lake and Lost Lake hike.

Kellogg Reunion Adventure days

Darren brought his rafts and we were able to split up into groups and go river rafting on the Payette river. It was beautiful country and very fun to float and chat and get your adrenalin pumping over the rapids. Kevin and I went one day and then the next day Kevin and Conor went. One day we went mountain biking in a crazy awful thunder and lightening rain deluge. Kevin's dad drove us to the top of some mountain and left us in the rain. I think I might have heard him laughing as he drove away-kidding.   It was a pretty miserable ride. We hiked our bikes a lot and then rode down stream cowboy style if we weren't hiking up hill. Thunder can be incredibly loud on the top of an exposed mountain. I was a bit nervous I must say. All for the ride though right?

More Kellogg Reunion

We spent a lot of time paddle boarding, relaxing on the beach and playing in the sand, we went on some beautiful mountain hikes and more fishing.

Kellogg Reunion

After we got home from Chicago we had about a day of turn around time. Just enough time to do laundry and repack our bags, load up the car (twice,) and head out to Mcall, Idaho and Cascade Lake to meet up with all the Kellogg family for a Kellogg Reunion. Talk about 2 totally different trips, but oh so much fun. We really enjoyed spending time with all the Kellogg cousins and getting to know them better. Family is the best!

We spent the majority of time fishing and playing at the beach.

-Conor and Ryan-these two spent a lot of time together fishing, Ryan really took Conor under his wing and made him a weekend fisherman.
