A visit from G&G and Halloween

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit for a few days! This trip Grandma decided to give us the opportunity to go see what Daddy does at work. We had been wanting to go see his new digs, but Grandma came up with a real excuse to go bother him by breaking her foot and needing some x-rays. Despite Grandma needing to wear a special shoe for 6 weeks, it was a fun outing.  We did some shopping, we ate out, we carved pumpkins, we showed Dad the rental house and had a marvelous time with them.

We waved goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa on Halloween morning and got ready for trick or treating fun.  Josie was super-woman, Lincoln was a scarecrow and Conor a skeleton.  We really trick or treated in style this year.  The Wilson's hooked their trailer up and drove all of us around to different neighborhoods.  The kids made a serious haul!!!  What a great way to trick or treat.

More Fall Happenings

With the passing of summer the carefree days become a far away memory. So much to do, so much fun to still be had. Josie, Lincoln and I went out to Manito Park one fine day for a photo op. Conor was playing in a golf tournament and we didn't want to drive all the way home so we wandered the beautiful gardens. Josie was a ham, Lincoln not so much.   Josie started fall soccer and is still loving it.  She was able to play some of her friends on the opposing team, which is always fun.  With the burn ban finally lifted we were able to do a few backyard bonfires, sparklers and all.  Conor participated in 6th Grade volleyball and had a great experience.

Lincoln has yet again grown a year older.  Make it stop!  Our little Linc is such a good natured kid.  He is happy, smart, friendly, a cookie monster and social.  He still loves his trucks and he loves to dance and be outside.  On his birthday we invited the Wilson's and Jagger over for cake and ice-cream, and fun.    Some kids sleep with stuffed animals...not Lincoln,  he sleeps with his trucks.

Some fall Miscellaneous

Here are a few snapshots of a day in the life at the Kellogg house.  Unfortunately the vacant empty acres behind our house have come to an end.  The big trucks and equipment came out in full force.  Lincoln was in heaven, me not so much.  I am so disappointed.  Lincoln could be found supervising the work at all hours of the day,  This particular picture he was even still in his jammies.  Josie and I got to have a girls night out.  We went out to dinner, and we went shopping and we really had a great time together.  We are so blessed to have sweet Josie in our lives.  The kids participated in the ward primary program.  This was the last program that they would all be in together, as Conor will graduate from Primary in April.  Some rain/umbrella fun, beautiful fall trees, dry ice fun, exploring, slurping and Mountain biking.

First day of School and some other firsts

School is back in session! Some cheering and some grumbling here. As a Mom I have mixed feelings when the kiddo's head out. I love the casual carefree days of summer where there is no homework, early mornings, driving a million places for lessons and what not. But on the flipside it is so nice to have a schedule back and the few quiet hours that I can almost call my own. This year Conor is king of the school, as he is now in 6th grade. Josie is no longer the littlest 1st grader, she is now in 2nd grade. The transition is a breeze and both are doing great. 

 Lincoln has graduated from a car-seat to a booster, lots of happiness on this day. I can now open the door, he climbs in and I close the door.   No more waiting for him to take his sweet time and wait to get situated and then buckle him! This is a big deal!!!!! Josie started piano lessons this year and I even took on a few piano students, who would of guessed?  Another exciting event worth noting is that Conor finally got a CGM, or a DEX, or a continuous glucose monitor. We call it a Dex at our house. After a lot of battling with the insurance company and then some indecision on our part we are golden.  He started dexting October 2.  No more uninterrupted sleep for me.  I am constantly being awakened with alarms to inform me of blood sugar swings.  It is like having a new baby but maybe worse, constant alarms.  This is all good for Conor, but maybe not for the sanity of Mom.  It will be worth it though. 

Another first is that the van hit the 100,000 mile mark.  Is that something to cheer about?  I guess it depends how you look at it.  We are lucky and happy to have a reliable car that is a work horse for us.  This particular mile was marked on one of the many, many, many, trips to our new rental house on the South Hill.   Blood, sweat, tears and money have been poured into this investment.  We are praying this will be a good thing for our family in the future

Ladies Ski Day and Kids Tri

This September was so busy that we were only able to squeeze in one ladies ski day-boo hoo. This one day was great though. The water was glass and we had so much fun relaxing on the water.

The kids were both able to participate in the Kootenai Tri for kids this year. Both of them did really great and I think they had a great time. I am so glad that the community puts fun events like this together.
