June catch up

School is out!!!!  No more kindergarten, no more 4th grade, no more picking Josie up at 11:50 every day-my happiness. We celebrated with the Wilson's and took the kids out for burgers, fries and milk shakes at the Milk bottle in the Garland district. We have been meaning to go to this restaurant for ages, and it was a special treat for everyone.

Josie lost her 1st tooth!  She lost her 2nd tooth 2 days later.  She was very brave and pulled the first one on her own, then had Mom pull the 2nd one.  The Tooth Fairy made it even though it was raining, because there was some concern here.

More last day of school celebrations included making our own delicious pizza's on the grill with  Hudson and Roxie.

We celebrated our wonderful Daddy by making a delicious breakfast and we got to enjoy it out in the warm sunshine.  We love you Daddy.

Josie Field trip and Dance Recital

I was lucky enough to go with Josie on her all day field trip. The kindergartners got to go downtown to play on the red wagon, eat lunch at The Olive Garden and then they got to see Aladdin Jr. at the Bing Crosby Theater. We had such a great time together, thanks to a brave teacher, good memories were made.
-Mrs. Badeaux's AM kindergarten class.  Josie is back row middle.

-Kamra, Katie, Julie and Josie at the Olive Garden.  Katie moved here a few months ago and Josie loves her!  We hope they stick around a while.
-Waiting for the play to start

Josie had been taking dance from Miss Jill since November.  They have been preparing for the spring dance recital for months.  We discovered that dance is not Josie's thing, but we really wanted to stick out the year so...The much anticipated dance recital has arrived!  Josie, Josie Josie.  A lot of tears were lost over her looking so cute in her costume.  The only thing she didn't cry about wearing was the flower pinned to the skirt.  I will say that if awards were handed out at the performance, she would have been given the most improved dancer award.  She has come a very long way when it comes to paying attention and remembering the routine.  I guess she will stick to the athletic sports route.  I promise I didn't sway her one bit.  I wouldn't be opposed to taking the award for the Mom who was given the absolute most grief over dance clothes every single dance day.  There are not tears at our house over saying farewell to dance.

-BEAUTIFUL!!!!

-Lyndsey and Josie between performances in their cute apron costume.  They had 2 numbers they performed and they did awesome.

-After the performance Lyndseys Grandma gave them both flowers and Josie thought she was Miss America carrying them around.  Ahhhh.... a simple pleasure.

Memorial Day BBQ

On Memorial Day we had the Willards, the Renchers, and the Sullengers over for a summer kick off BBQ.  We had tons of yummy food and everyone had a great time.  Then...the rain joined us.  The rain was not invited!  We had to bring the party inside for a while but then we headed back out for some s'mores, it was still a little soggy, but who can complain when you are eating a gooey yummy s'more?

-A few of the crazy kids we had running around.  The rest are jumping or playing in the sand or sneaking those delicious red jigglers.

-The spread...makes me hungry!
-I think this is just about everyone.  We are huddled around the fire and standing because all the chairs were wet and it is drizzling.  I still see smiles though.  Yay for Summer!
