Sullivan Lake Camping in July

We reserved a double campsite back in February so we have been looking forward to this camp trip for a looong time! The Kellogg's, the Osmun's the Rencher's and the Wilson's all made it to Sullivan Lake for 4 days of fun at Sullivan Lake. Unfortunately the the weather was a bit crappy. We had a full day of rain but we didn't let that ruin our trip. Dave kept the fire roaring and he even treated us to a chimney log.  Even though the weather was a bit cool we still were able to get on the lake and enjoy the boat-the Wilson boat that is.  We played on the beach with the kayaks and the paddle boards. The paddle boards came in really handy as we used them to ferry people to the boat and the beach. Lincoln was the favorite ferry man for sure. We all seemed to trust the 5 year old to keep us dry. We got in some great skiing, and tubing and knee boarding and we even tried pulling the paddle board behind the boat. Never a dull moment with the Kellogg's on the water. What a beautiful fun trip. We are sure lucky to live so close to such a beautiful place and wonderful friends.  The last picture is of us up at Mill Pond.  It is a beautiful little lake just up the road from Sullivan...no motor boats allowed, but the beauty is free for sure!  I love me some camping!

Happy Birthday Josie--9 it is!!!

My Josie girl is 9 years old!!  So, I was informed that I never make Josie a cool cake so we clearly needed to fix that.  The result was this really cool cake...I guess on the bright side Josie thought it was pretty awesome.  We surprised Josie with the best present ever...she got to get her ears pierced.  She was beside herself with excitement.  We headed to the mall the very next day.  Josie and Lyndsey had so much fun at the mall hangin out, shopping, eating icec ream and pretzels and smelling perfume and lotion at bath and body works.

Since we were in town this year for Josie's birthday we were able to invite a few friends over for a friend party.  Ginger let us use her yard and pool so we had a small pool party with Reegan, Lyndsey, Emma, and Lauren.  We made these awesome sharpie t-shirts, swam and giggled and jumped on the trampoline, ate tons of candy and opened presents.  Happy birthday to the sweetest daughter anybody could ask for.  Now stop growing my beautiful young lady!!!

San Juan and 4th of July Island style

We were lucky enough to spend the 4th of July on the Island. So much fun!!!!  We headed into town and went to the tiny local parade.  On the way back we went to false bay and found buried treasure!  Seriously, the kids started hunting clams.  I personally chased the cute little crabs but the big boys found a bunch of clams, so the next stops was home to try and cook these babies.  Thanks heavens for You Tube.  I thought they were absolutely awful, but most of us at least tried a taste.  Kevin and Ty played Cornhole for hours, the kids swam some more and then the crowning moment of the day we went to 4th of July beach and had a fire, and roasted marshmallows and hot dogs, ate watermelon and watched the island fireworks.  We were lucky enough to see Friday Harbor fireworks and the next island over fireworks.  They were awesome!  We sleepily headed home.  We had a few hours the next morning to swim some more, explore the beach and make it to the ferry to head home.  We had some world famous ice cream in Friday harbor and then we had to leave our weekend of fun and head back to real life.  On the way home we stopped at Jen and Chris's house to say hello.  We could only stay about 30 minutes, but is was fun to see where they live.  Pretty awesome weekend for sure.

More San Juans

We went to Roche harbor, we went to the lighthouse, we tried to see some whales, but no luck, the kids went swimming and swimming some more and we played games, early morning beach walks  and had such a great time together.
