Ice Skating and River Front Park

Josie getting a feel for her skatesWe spent sometime on our backsides
Or a few of us were lucky enough to spend time in the air
Our excellent coach
Don't ask how long it has been since I went ice skating
We took Melissa down to River front park to try out the outdoor skating rink they have there. None of us had tried it out and it was a beautiful sunny day. Unfortunately Josie made it out the door with out a coat, but she did have a blanket...GRRRR. Melissa so kindly gave up her sweatshirt to Josie and all was well. Josie did awesome! She is a much better ice skater then roller skater. She even gave it a go several times with out someone holding her hands and I was rather impressed. She did favor Daddy and his speedy rides. Conor was an old pro, and only warmed the ice with his backside a few time.

After ice skating we wandered over to the river to feed the ducks and take a quick spin on the wagon slide and feed the vacuum goat

Melissa Came to visit!!

We are so glad Melissa came to Spokane to visit us. We rarely get visitors to our corner of the nation. We decided Spokane is just too far off the beaten path to get drop ins. We have to be the destination. Unfortunately Spokane doesn't have much to offer but the Kellogg's, but we tried to show her a good time. She spent many hours playing with Conor and Josie. Josie called her "Missa." They would rarely let her out of their site, what a trooper. She made me some awesome PJ capri's since I ripped a huge hole in my trusty old pair and she showed us all her Super Mario tricks. We made her try our famous BBQ pizza (I think we impressed,) and we forced her to play some fun games with us and meet our awesome friends. We were so sad to see her go. After we closed the door at the airport curb and we were pulling away Josie says. "MOM! That was FUN!!!" Conor kept saying he couldn't wait until July because that is our next planned visit with our Melissa. We miss you.

Go Chiefs!

Stephanie and Darren were nice enough to get us tickets to a Spokane Chief's game. We had awesome seats and the company was great. (no picture D & S??? )The chiefs even won! Thanks for the opportunity, we would have missed out on some great fun with out the "free" aspect.

Skiing with the girls at Red Mountain

Julie and Tanya
Amy, Tanya, Hilary and Julie - top of paradise

Kevin was nice enough to watch the kids for a day so I could go up to Red Mountain with the girls and try out some skiing Canadian style. I had a spectacularly fun time and I found myself working hard to keep up with the crazy gals (pink panties) who ski way more then me, but it was a good challenge. My quads were begging for mercy at the end of the day. We had time to go snowshoeing for a few hours and I loved it! I wish we could have gone longer. Beautiful country that is just dying to be explored. Fun times.
