Josie spring soccer

We spent a lot of time in May chasing the soccer ball.  Here are some of my favorite pics of Josie and soccer.

Time keeps marching on

Here are some activities that have kept us busy the 1st half of May. We kicked off the month with a spring piano recital for Conor. He played an arrangement of Waterfall and it sounded fabulous! Hopefully he will stick with it and really learn to love making beautiful music. I was lucky enough to play a duet with him. It was short and really simplified, as we were low on time, but it was fun to play it with him.  I should say he tolerated me.

Josie had to do her 1st grade animal project.  She chose to learn about the basilisk lizard.  Not my first pick, but it is a pretty cool lizard.  She worked really hard on the report and the diorama (so did Mom and Dad and Conor.) We then went to bedtime story night to see her lizard presentation and a play that the whole 1st grade put on about animal biomes.  Josie had a moment in the spotlight with her speaking part.

May finally brought some warm weather and long evenings!  The trampoline came out and the fire pit started to get some great use.

Last but not least, I had to document some of the car treasures I come across at my house on a daily/hourly basis.  It is a rare night when I go to crawl in bed and I don't find a few cars hidden under the decorative pillows.  Lincoln is passionate about his cars that is for sure!!

-Pillows make great tunnels for cars
-3 cute little sets of shoes waiting for my little ones to get out of bed and come claim them.  One of the moments I actually was glad to see the shoes instead of being angry that they got left out.  Happy to enjoy the journey.

Easter

Home again home again jiggity jig. Back to real life and Easter. We colored Easter eggs with the Willards a few days before Easter and then on Sunday we had an Easter egg hunt in the backyard. Pretty low key, but the kids thought it was fun.
-Just getting started.

-Josie was enamored with this whole process.  She would have done this all day if we had enough eggs

-Josie and Taj showing off the spoils

-2 of my favorites.  Amina did this one on the right.

-The final ones standing,  The others wandered off mid project.

Mouths full!  There are about 18 jellybeans in this kids mouth....Candy overload!

Red Cliffs Desert Reserve

We wanted to try a new hike that wasn't far from the house, so Grandpa suggested the Red Cliffs Reserve. It was great fun, and the views were great, there were plenty of rocks to climb on and a pretty arch. It ended up being a little farther than we thought, but the kids didn't mind as they chased jack rabbits and tortured caterpillars. We figured it was almost 5 miles and Lincoln walked the majority of it. We were glad to head to the pool after this one.

Ghost Town and Wildlife Museum

We decided to try something different this trip, so we went out to Leeds to see the Silver reef ghost town. I was actually surprised how much the kids liked it. We took the minivan four wheeling and we discovered some beautiful views.

Another day I wanted to do some shopping with my Mom and the kids needed to kill some time somewhere other then the pool, so they went to the wildlife museum for an hour or so. Here are some of the pictures they took.

Eating and Swimming!

Besides mountain biking we are here for the pool, the yummy places to eat and some much needed rest and relaxation.  I didn't get a picture of the delicious Fractured Prune donut shop we discovered or the Nelson's frozen custard that is always a must.  This trip was probably the warmest weather we have ever had when we come in the spring, so the outdoor pool was bliss.

-Some swim time with Daddy

-Lincoln would get tired of swimming and come snuggle with me.  I love my snuggle man.

-Josie with her giant water balloon

-This trip Lincoln finally got comfortable around the water,  he started trusting his life jacket and jumping in all by himself.

-Cheeeeese!

-The boys at Chuck -A-Rama.  Conor calls this his B-day dinner from heaven.

-In-N-Out-Josie can down a hamburger like nobodies business!

-Can't forget Chickfila!!
