Spring Soccer 2011

Spring soccer has come and is almost gone. We have a 3 game tournament this weekend and then adios soccer for a few months. Here are a few pictures to highlight the fun. Conor has come a very long ways this year. He has really decided to be part of the game and he can be scrappy. His favorite position to play is goalie, and he was delighted when this year they were given the opportunity to be goalie for some of the game and he loves it.

Little ones update/Lincoln surgery

Bath time for Lincoln
Bedtime the night before Lincoln's surgery.

Ah...just happy cute time

I have had some requests to see a few pictures of the ever changing kids. Lincoln changes daily, and since he is the 3rd unfortunately I forget to take pictures of all the little milestones. Poor little guy. His non existent baby book may haunt him some day. These pics will have to do. Kevin had the afternoon off so we splurged and went to lunch together. We got many compliments on our cute Josie and Lincoln (Conor was at school), I guess they were well behaved and extra cute today. I have to write these moments down so I can grasp sanity when they are driving me crazy. I also have to remember that I actually produced them and that once upon a time I was maybe cute instead of old and wrinkled and not so fresh faced. Man to be young again.

Lincoln had surgery on May 24th to repair his hypospadias, For those of us who don't know what that is, it is a birth (congenital) defect in which the opening of the urethra is on the underside, rather than at the end, of his privates. He had a very mild case, but it needed to be repaired, so repair it we did, or Dr. Starr did. Lincoln of course acted in true rock star angel fashion and hardly even cried. I had pictures, but Kevin made me erase them. He just said that he was so glad that he wasn't Lincoln. Ow, Ow. The night before he went in for surgery Kevin gave him a blessing and we talked to the kids about what was going to happen, and both Josie and Conor were so concerned We told Josie he needed to go to the hospital and she almost got a little teary and asked if we would bring him back. She said she wanted him back. After Lincoln came home and we were taking the wrapping off Conor actually cried because it looked so awful. I said "Well aren't you glad it isn't you? " Conor said. "No, I wish it was me so Lincoln wasn't hurting." Through all the fighting and teasing, anger and silliness, bottom line, they will always love each other, and will always have each other. What an amazing gift I have been given, 3 beautiful children.

Easter Weekend

We had a very quiet and peaceful Easter weekend at our house. I even managed to talk Kevin into taking a few pictures before we left for church. Josie wore her dress with only minimal crying and lots and lots of candy was consumed. Josie has been talking about Jesus and the people that tried to kill him but couldn't, so I guess we managed to teach her that Easter is a little more then egg hunts and candy.

We had 2 soccer games on the 1st B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L Saturday of the year that we were blessed with, and Conor played fabulous. The kids were outside the entire day...really. 8:00-6:00. They jumped on the trampoline practically all day. Conor had 1/2 the soccer team over to enjoy the sun. We colored Easter eggs, and I was able to squeeze in a 24 mile road ride and 3 mile run. Kevin got in a great spring mountain bike ride, so we were very happy and content on Saturday night.

The long awaited...baptism

Conor's 8th Birthday was extra special because he was able to be baptized the very day he turned 8-no waiting. The baptism turned out to be everything and even more then we had hoped for. We had so much support it was incredible. Besides all the wonderful family who traveled great distances to come, we also had many great friends and ward members there. Conor was especially excited that his 1st grade teacher took the time to come as well as a neighbor friend and her mom. We are so proud of Conor. I just can't get over that my little Conor is 8 and baptized. Before I know it, he will be headed to the MTC.

Conor's Birthday happened to fall on Conference weekend and on a Sunday. Since we were home and needed entertaining, Conor was allowed to open one of his presents every few hours. It turned out to be a great idea and a lot of fun to play with something different as the day went by and to help keep his mind of the upcoming baptism.

We had family visit!

We had the best weekend! Look at all the fabulous people who came to visit and be with Conor for his baptism. Craig and Chyleen and Sharissa decided at the last minute to make the trip up from Utah and we loved, loved having a full house.

Let the party begin!

Conor decided for his school birthday treat he wanted cinnamon rolls. As luck would have it, Kevin came home early so I could run the treats over myself and hang out with his class for a few minutes, which was really fun for both of us. Since his birthday was on a Sunday we brought the treats the Friday before.
