A Moment for Josie

Josie needs a moment in the spotlight. A few things about Josie: Josie is 22 months and very stubborn. She understands absolutely everything and can say a few words on demand, but thinks talking is just too much work. She calls Conor - Coco and she will say hereyougo, (all one word.) She loves to bounce on the trampoline as long as the big kids aren't being to rough and she loves to "help" Mom or Dad around the yard. Her favorite food is macaroni and cheese and yogurt which she likes to eat with the lid partially on so she opens it each time she sticks in the spoon. Her ultimate favorite food is jellybeans or anything not healthy. Josie can almost always be found with a book in hand, she flips the pages and oohs and ahhs over any animal she finds. She is a fabulous sleeper and she loves to rock out to music in her car seat. She is very determined and keeps life fun at our house.

Sunday Best

I snapped this picture before we went to church on Sunday. Thank goodness for Sunday's at out house. A day to get dressed up and stay out of the dirt! I hardly recognize these guys with out dust and mud on them.

If I could only whistle

As we were walking to school today Conor was making these weird breathing sounds. After a while I finally asked if he was OK? He said he was fine, and he was only trying to whistle. He asked when he would be able to whistle and I had to respond with when your teeth grow in. All though, I can barely whistle and I have my front teeth. Hopefully he grows in better whistling teeth then me.
Conor lost his 2 front teeth within a week of each other. He lost both of them with a little help from the neighbor boys on the trampoline. They were both loose, but still had a few weeks left. On the bright side, we had no dangling by a thread front teeth. The first went flying across the trampoline after a knee to the mouth and then a week later another body part to the mouth and the 2nd tooth was dangling enough to irritate Conor so he reached in and yanked it out. No tears and no drama! I love my little boy!
Now the tooth fairy...that is another story. Conor was very upset to discover that his tooth was still under his pillow the next morning. WHAT!!! As far as we know she was very very busy and was maybe getting a tooth from a child in Africa, so she ran out of time. She doubled the money for her tardiness the next night, and was very very prompt for tooth number 2.

Kindergarten Program

On Wednesday we went to Conor's Kindergarten Mother's day program. He was so excited about it and had been working very hard. He was especially excited to give me the flower and tea pot that he worked so hard to create. The program was adorable, as only a kindergarten program can be. They sang "Splish splash having a bath..." Conor just cracked up every time he sang it, so I wish I had a picture of his huge smile and big actions during that song. I can't believe he is almost through with kindergarten. He has learned so much and has really grown up. He has lots of friends and is always trying to please and do what's right. So long little Conor and on to the big kid days. We are so proud of you.

Mountain Biking

We finally took the camera out on the trail. This is how we like to spend our weekends. Sometimes Kevin and me are able to get out together but usually we just split up, he goes morning, and I go afternoon. This way we don't have to pay a sitter. Kevin is at Boulder Beach and I am at Riverside Park, in the Bowl and Pitcher area. The River is roaring this time of year.
