Strawberry Picking
Miles and Josie
The first fruits of the summer are on at Green Bluff. YEA!! Green Bluff is something that is super awesome in Spokane. We live about 15 minutes from a produce mecca. We can go up there and do U-pick for pretty much any yummy fruit or veggie... Well minus the citrus stuff. So, me and Tanya and of course the kiddies went up to bring home some spoils to make strawberry jam. Josie was cute. She really tried to help out, but of course she ate more then she put in the bucket and sadly she stepped on and squished way more then I care to admit. All of our fingers and clothes were stained a delicious strawberry red. Believe it or not I came home and made 2 batches of jam. Mmmmm..... Good!
Take me out to the Ball game!
We had the opportunity to buy some tickets to a Spokane Indian Baseball game with the JDRF group. We invited our fabulous friends the Willards and we went in hopes of catching a foul ball. We had a great time. The rain stayed away and the kettle corn kept the kids happy. Our team even won. Go Indians!
Priest Lake
Kevin planned a weekend bike ride up at Priest Lake and since it was a full day trip, I wouldn't be able to get a ride in with a kid switch. My solution: Spend the day at the beach and lake while he went on a ride. So me and the kids and Hilary and the dogs tagged along for the drive and some relaxation. The guys dropped us off at the beach and they went on to the trail in bear territory. We hiked around for a while then hit the beach. The water was a bit cold for my liking, but the kids didn't mind and the sand was just right. If you ever run across a grizzly along the Canadian border with a nice yellow rain jacket, can you please get it back for Kevin?
The Ice Cream Truck
The ice cream man found our neighborhood the other day and you would have thought the kids had died and gone to heaven. It was so funny. They heard the music and suddenly all heck broke loose. They started screaming and running home to get their money and destroying anything that got in their way. Conor ransacked his piggy bank as fast as he could and was out on the curb in 30 seconds flat. You would think they never ate a popsicle before, funny because they have eaten me out of house and home regarding popsicle's, and I never get a reception like the ice cream man. They were all thrilled with their purchases and I was left shaking my head thinking Conor could have bought 12 for the price he got his one. Alas...a moment of bliss for the neighborhood kids.

Trail of the Coeur D'Alenes
This weekend we took time out from yard work and all the other mundane responsibilities of being homeowners and we took our bikes to the Trail of the Coeur D'Alenes. So worth the trip. It is a beautiful 73 mile long paved trail. The best part about it, is that it is mostly flat and the scenery is breath taking. We wish we could have gone farther, but you have to travel back the same distance. All in all we figured we did about 20 miles. We packed a picnic and enjoyed our lunch along the trail. Conor rode at least 10 miles of the trek and was unstoppable and Josie was an excellent passenger. We will definitely be returning.
